Social Bookmarking
I really like the idea of Social Bookmarking. For Bookmarking my favourite pages I decided to use http://www.delicious.com/ as it seemed so simple and organized. And it is a great opportunity to share webpages on certain topics with other members of the network. for the class specifically I created a tag ovsm08 where I will present the list of sites that I found useful for videoblogging.
Social Networking Sites
I’ve extensively used facebook as a sample of the Social Network Sites. Facebook has become increasingly popular recently and gives a lot of opportunities to its users. First of all, it is an excellent site for communication and could be used for development of formal as well as informal relationships. I’ve noticed that it has been extensively used by organizations to popularize upcoming events and make their activities public. It is amazing to consider that a social network site for college students established in 2004 would become so overwhelming attracting not only college students.
The Social network site as defined by Boyd D. M. And Ellison N.B. (2005) is a web-based service “that allow individuals to (1) construct a public or semi-public profile within a bounded system, (2) articulate a list of other users with whom they share a connection, and (3) view and traverse their list of connections and those made by others within the system.” Boyd and Ellison (2005) argue that “What makes social network unique is not that they allow individuals to meet strangers, but rather that they enable users to articulate and make visible their social networks.”
To join the site you should provide answers to some personal question and make your profile. One of the interesting features of facebook is home where you can find everyday updates on activities that your social network members want to publicize.
I myself find the site very useful in sharing opinions and views on certain topics and finding the communities that have similar interests. This is facilitated by sharing notes, articles, music uploading videos and pictures.
The add module which I find the least useful on facebook is applications as usually I feel it is linked with entertainment more than performance of social network and often most of the applications to me seem a waste of time.

International House
To all International House Residents
The movie depicts life at the International House. The narration is short in the movie, making emphasis on visuals to express more.
